SOLD!
Sold my first hand painted leather jacket which I’m excited about and think is worth celebrating a bit with a blog post. Might seem out of keeping but when I was a kid heavy metal and Black Sabbath were extremely popular in my highschool. Some of the very first jackets I painted when I was a kid were things like Iron Maiden, Slayer and Black Sabbath. I was fortunate to see Sabbath in the 1980s when they still had a lot of their raw power.
This Ozzy Tribute Jacket was fun to do both as a tribute to an artist I enjoyed watching throughout his career and as a return to my origins as a “creator”. It began with a patch I liked, created a stencil and just took it from there. I listed it maybe a month before it sold and really wanted it is sort of a shop mascot of sorts. Something I thought was interesting and might attract non-jam band adjacent, undeadheadish types to take a look at my stuff. Seems like that worked….. I have another biker jacket around somewhere and I currently plan on making it into a punk rock 80s style jacket some friends wore in NYC back in the day. I was lucky to catch that lightning too seeing the Bad Brains, Black Flag, Minor Threat and a few other amazing bands at CBGB’s, the Reggae Lounge and other iconic spots.
